Microchip Technology acquires Microsemi to $ 8.3 billion

Microchip Technology has just formalized its intention to acquire Microsemi to $ 8.35 billion. Founded in 1989, Microchip produces some microcontrollers, components (circuit, radio frequency, battery... Management), clock and timers for the industry, the automotive sector and the consumer market. Microsemi also produces semiconductors for the sectors of aerospace, defence, communications, data and industry centers. According to Microchip, the acquisition is expected to generate about $ 300 million of synergies from the third year following the transaction.

In 2016, the company had already put the hand on Atmel (components electronics, microcontrollers) to $ 3.4 billion.
